Buying and selling at auction
As soon as the auctioneer's hammer falls and contracts are exchanged, both buyer and seller are committed – so it's good to be prepared beforehand. Our property team has a huge amount of experience acting for both buyers and sellers at auction, and will make sure you're ready for the day.
Sellers: we'll work with the auction house to prepare a comprehensive auction pack. Prospective buyers will have all the information they need about your property in advance.
Buyers: we'll review the auction pack(s) and prepare a Property Report, just for you. You'll be able to make an informed decision on whether or not to bid, and how much to spend.
After the auction, we'll make sure all deadlines are met and the process is completed quickly and efficiently.

Simon is the head of our commercial property department. Prior to joining Harland & Co in 1996 he worked for Legal 500 firms in the North East of England and was an in-house property solicitor for a substantial plc.
